Of course, soup can be cooked in chicken or meat broth, add the pieces of meat, but it will not be a lean option. Zazharku in the soup can add crushed cumin, if You’re a fan of spice. Ingredients:

  • Bulgur — 100 Grams
  • Lentils — 100 Grams
  • Konservirovannye tomatoes — 300 Grams (in its own juice)
  • Pepper, bolgarski — 1 Piece
  • Carrots — 1 Piece
  • Onion — 1 Piece
  • Vegetable oil — 2 tbsp. spoon
  • Water — 2-2,5 Liters (or broth)
  • Salt — to taste
  • Greens — to taste

How to cook “Soup with bulgur and lentils”


Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Vegetables wash and clean.


Bulgur, lentils, rinse and dip in boiling water. Cook after boiling for 20 minutes on low heat. During this time, prepare zazharku.


Onions, carrots and peppers cut into small cubes. With tomatoes, remove the skin and mash with a fork with the juice. In vegetable oil saute the onion, carrot and pepper. Last add the tomatoes and simmer for 2-3 minutes. If desired, add cumin.


After you cook bulgur and lentils, add zazharku in the soup, add salt to taste and cook for another couple minutes. For the balance of taste can add a pinch of sugar. Then turn off the stove and leave the soup to stand for 20-30 minutes to have it filled with all the flavors and aromas.
